Event overview
Recent reforms have made China’s panda bond market an increasingly attractive source of funding for a diverse range of foreign issuers, including governments, international development agencies, financial institutions and corporates, with the volume of panda bonds outstanding reaching RMB 285 billion by mid-2020.
An expert panel of representatives of issuers and investors assessed the current state of the panda bond market, issuance trends and performance over the past year, the advantages it offers to foreign issuers for funding and diversification, and its future potential. There was also a session that looked at the progress of market infrastructure and the regulatory framework.
